5 Factors to Consider When Looking for Quality Tees

T-shirts have been in existence since the 19th century and in the 1950s became more popular when Marlon Brando wore it in one of his movies. Fast-forward six decades after and tees are now accepted as office dress codes mostly for IT companies. Being the icons for casual clothing, t-shirts come in different colors and designs and at times, choosing what’s right for you becomes challenging.

What should you look for when buying quality tees?

Most of the tees available in the market are 100% cotton while some a combination of cotton and polyester material. Tees made of cotton are preferable to wear because it is soft and comfortable on the body. However, when it comes to moisture, polycotton works better as it allows evaporation. When it comes to thickness of the fabric, there is really nothing significant about it when it comes to quality but a thicker material looks more expensive and durable while thin fabric looks cheap.

When shopping for a shirt, it’s imperative to consider the reason you are buying one. If you are looking for a tee to wear for a regular day like going to the movies or seeing friends, a cotton tee will do. On the other hand, if this is a shirt you will use for a game or a sport like running or a gym work out, you should opt for a dri-fit shirt since it does not absorb sweat.

A t-shirt is part of your fashion statement. It is also a piece of clothing you want to wear because of its design. Some may have no print on it but most have logos or designs either at the front or at the back. These are known as graphic tees. Depending on the type of your personality, you can wear movie tees, hip hop shirts and ones with your favorite cartoon character or super hero. These are more casual than others and the bigger and bolder the graphics are, the more they become casual-looking. Quality tees with designs are those that use non-toxic paints and prints.

Tees come in different styles, from crew necks to tank tops. If you want a classic tee, a crew collar is the best choice especially if you have a long neck and a slight build body frame. It also is proportionate to a person with narrow face. Conversely, the V-neck is more visual and better for a shorter individual. It looks better on men with wider and larger faces.

Basically, the perfect color for a tee depends on your skin tone but it is still best to know how different colors can affect how you look. A white tee is classic and great to be paired with jeans while navy exudes sharpness. Gray can also be a flattering color and is a neutral tone. A black shirt is great to wear at night since it can easily absorb the heat coming from the sun during the day. Other shirt colors include red, green, orange, neon and brown.

Although price is also a significant factor when it comes to quality, there are tees available now that are not necessarily expensive but made with quality.
